Become certified by RSPO sustainable palm oil

Bureau Veritas Certification Denmark A/S

Palm oil is the first oil harvest in the world, and in 2009 40 million tons of this kind were produced. Palm oil, used for both the food and nonfood industries, plays a primary role in the economic development of palm oil producing countries and in the nutrition of millions of people.

After a sharp increase in the palm oil sector's plantation area from the 1990s to the present and the pressure on the environment and local populations, a reaction from palm oil producers and stakeholders was inevitable. Therefore, for the first time in 2008, it was possible to buy certified palm oil. Using RSPO certified palm oil, your company is committed to sustainability while maintaining an adequate supply of palm oil without damaging the living conditions of communities and the biodiversity of ecosystems.

The benefits of a RSPO certification

Founded in 2004, the Roundtable on Sustainable Palm Oil (RSPO) is a non-profit association. The association aims to promote the growth and use of sustainable palm oil. There is a deficit of certified sustainable palm oil on the world market because sustainable production is not yet established. By being certified according to the RSPO Supply Chain Certification System, you support the establishment of sustainable and transparent production throughout the supply chain, until the product reaches its consumer.
