become certified by RTRS sustainable soy

Bureau Veritas Denmark A/S

There is an increasing focus on sustainable soy production. The major player in the Danish food sector has started to demand sustainable production. Agriculture & Food has joined forces with the major food companies, among others Arla, DLG and Danish Agro, and have now made demands to the global actors, which account for the world's soy trade. Soy is an essential ingredient in the feed for Danish production animals. This means that suppliers and producers of soy must demonstrate their efforts in the environment as well as social and working conditions.

In Sweden, as early as 2015, demands were made for all soy to be sustainably produced. Arla has already taken the first step in the fight here in Denmark. They are now demanding that all soy used for cattle feed must be sustainable from the year 2015.

The benenfits of a RTRS certification

Founded in 2006, the Round Table on Responsible Soy Association (RTRS) is a non-profit association. The association aims to promote responsible production, processing and trading of soy on a global level. A RTRS certification is valid worldwide and ensures soy production to be environmentally, socially appropriate and economically feasible. By being certified according to RTRS, you support the establishment of sustainable and transparent production throughout the supply chain, until the product reaches the consumer.
