Even if you are certified by another certification body, you can easily change certification body in the middle of a certification cycle. We can take over your existing certificate and make sure that your process continues without interruption. A newly issued certificate due to a switch is just as valid as the old one.
HOW TO SWITCH TO BUREAU vERITAS
This can be done in three easy steps:
- Review and assessment
We review your existing certificate as well as audit reports and other relevant documentation to ensure that everything is valid and complies with the rules. - Takeover visit (not mandatory)
We can arrange a takeover visit, where you meet the auditor, and we elaborate on the certification process and the cooperation with us. However, this visit is rarely necessary to take over the certificate. - Issuing a new certificate 1:1
Once we have reviewed all your documentation, we can issue a new certificate from Bureau Veritas with the same expiration date and scope as the old certificate. Then we continue the certification cycle as you know it, without interrupting operations and planning.

When is it optimal to change certification body?
Many companies mistakenly believe that they have to start over if they switch to a new certification body. As long as your certificate is valid and has not expired, you can switch and continue without disrupting operations and planning. Changing certification bodies is often a short process.

Will we lose our current certificate if we change?
No, your current certificate will be replaced by a new one from Bureau Veritas – with the same expiration date and scope. The new certificate is recognised in the same way as the old one. Bureau Veritas is accredited, and our certificates are recognised globally.

Can we keep our original certification cycle and expiration date?
Yes, Bureau Veritas assesses your existing audit documentation, and if everything is okay, we continue the cycle. Bureau Veritas issues a new certificate 1:1 with the same expiration date as the old one.

How long does the change take – and what does it require of us?
Often it is quick and uncomplicated. You must share your current audit reports and make yourself available for a possible takeover visit (often not necessary). We handle the rest.

Does it cost extra to change certification body?
Not necessarily. If you switch mid-cycle, you'll usually only pay for future audits – just like you would with your old certification body.
