CO2 footprint documented as clear as water
Aller Aqua produces fish feed for fish farms and aquacultures at factories in Denmark, Poland, Germany, Egypt, Zambia, China and Serbia and exports to more than 60 countries worldwide. Aller Aqua has developed feed for 30 fish species and has its own R&D centre in Germany, Aller Aqua Research. The company has more than 50 years’ experience with fish feed, but the company’s history goes back more than 1000 years to the establishment of Aller Mølle. Today the company is the third largest manufacturer of fish feed in Europe.
Many companies focus on reducing their CO2 footprint but Aller Aqua wishes to go one step further and find out exactly how much the company’s products each emits. In August 2021, Bureau Veritas verified the company’s calculations of CO2 emissions. Later that same year Aller Aqua’s feed from the Danish, German and Polish factories was declared according to the principles in EU’s PEFCR (Product Environmental Footprint Category Rules). Hear more about the process and various concrete initiatives like for instance phasing out the purchase of soya from South America. And learn more about why the company wishes to focus on feed with a low CO2 footprint. Gain an insight into the importance of a documented footprint in the dialogue with customers and other stakeholders.
