Green hydrogen is a 100% pure fuel made from renewable energy and the key to the electrification of the European transport sector and a sustainable future. Traditional electric cars as well as hydrogen driven cars support the zero-emission mobility. However, charging electric vehicles must be synchronised with the renewable energy production, as it would otherwise require charging with a substantial carbon footprint. When green hydrogen is produced, renewable energy can be stored as hydrogen before it is delivered to and used by consumers. Therefore, green hydrogen can play an important role in the green transition.
