ISO 37001 for anti-bribery at Danoffice IT

03.07.24

Since Danoffice IT was founded in 1995, high business practices and ethics have been an integral part of the company's DNA. Danoffice IT emphasised this in 2020, when the company was certified by Bureau Veritas Denmark according to the ISO 37001 standard regarding anti-bribery.

Since the company's founding, Danoffice IT has worked with the largest charity organisations and aid agencies in the world. Thus, Danoffice IT operates in parts of the world where bribery and corruption are handled differently than we do in Denmark. This entails a large responsibility.

"Corruption is detrimental to world growth and creates an even wider gap between rich and poor. That is why we have zero tolerance in connection with corruption. To underline our position, we saw a need to get a management system that can support us if we are subject to bribes," says Vice President, Operations at Danoffice IT, Jacob Steen Rasmussen, and continues:

"With the ISO 37001 standard, we gained an overview of our risks and established associated procedures that help our employees handle potentially difficult situations. It creates a great sense of security to have clear guidelines for what we do and do not do as a company."

Anti-bribery as a competitive parameter

The ISO 37001 standard has strengthened the internal procedures for anti-bribery at Danoffice IT, but the certification also creates great value in the dialogue with customers and partners. It highlights the company's ambition to be a reliable partner who always acts responsibly, honestly, and fairly.

"We experience that anti-bribery and corruption attract great attention from our partners and our customers. We are often asked if we have any systems that can support anti-bribery. It is fantastic that we can answer YES to this," says Export Compliance Manager & Anti-Bribery Compliance Officer at Danoffice IT, Carina Lauridsen Mehanovic, and continues:

"Conversely, we also expect our partners to endorse our position on anti-bribery and corruption. Therefore, all parties representing Danoffice IT must acknowledge and comply with our Code of Conduct."

More value-adding ISO certifications in the future

After experiencing the value of the ISO 37001 standard both internally and externally in the company, the future might bring more ISO certifications to Danoffice IT. The company already works according to several other ISO standards.

"It is no secret that we think it creates great value working with ISO standards. In addition to this, the certification process at Bureau Veritas has been absolutely fantastic. We have always had a good dialogue, and we received the guidance we needed," says Jacob Steen Rasmussen.

"Bureau Veritas' auditors are very competent and very pleasant to work with. It is important to us that the auditors can create a good atmosphere and a safe space so our employees have a good experience when meeting them. Bureau Veritas has managed to do this very well, and we are really happy about that," Carina Lauridsen Mehanovic concludes.
