SDG certification opens new doors for ProCon Wind Energy

09.06.21

In 2021 ProCon Wind Energy has been certified according to UN’s 17 Sustainable Development Goals by Bureau Veritas Denmark, and this has opened several new doors for the company.

As ProCon Wind Energy experiences an increasing focus on sustainability from stakeholders, the company finds it vital to be able to document its sustainability efforts with an SDG certification from Bureau Veritas Denmark.

”We wish to profile ourselves as a sustainable company, and we hope the SDG certification will open new doors at customers, business partners and future employees. The certification shows that we are serious when we say we want to be sustainable,” says Head of Business & Brand Development, Thomas Padfield, and QHSE & HR Manager, Sanna Lambers, elaborates why they chose Bureau Veritas’ SDG certification:

”It is important for us that our certificates are issued by acknowledged certification bodies, and to us Bureau Veritas seems to be the certificating body furthest ahead with a professional and comprehensive SDG certification.”

SDG certification gives competitive advantages

Especially the company’s customers increase their demands within sustainability. Therefore, ProCon Wind Energy anticipates that the SDG certification will be a decisive competitive advantage when the company communicates with present as well as potential customers.

”We expect to increase our market share considerably based on this certification as we experience that our customers has an increasing focus on us as suppliers being able to document sustainability. Companies which are unable to do so will simply be opted out,” says Thomas Padfield and continues:

”Therefore, we not only see our work with UN’s 17 Sustainable Development Goals as a means to improve our footprint in the world but also as a competitive advantage. Only few of our competitors can live up to the sustainability focus of the customers.”

SDG certification strengthens the company internally

In addition to new competitive advantages, the SDG certification has also helped strengthen ProCon Wind Energy’s internal processes and cooperation across departments, tells QHSE & Sustainability Coordinator, Lykke Christensen, and elaborates:

”The certification process has unified our departments even more as many of the new initiatives involve several departments. In addition to this the SDG certification has for instance taught us that it is important to calculate our Co2 emission etc. for the surroundings to understand the effect of our initiatives.”

ProCon Wind Energy looks forward to continuing their sustainable journey, and they are excited to see what opportunities the SDG certification brings along for the company, which earlier this year was certified according to ISO 9001, ISO 14001 and ISO 45001 by Bureau Veritas Denmark.
