Journl A/S receives the ISO 27001:2013 certificate from Bureau Veritas Certification
Journl A/S, supplier of software to hospitals, has received its ISO 27001:2013 certificate from Bureau Veritas Certification as a documentation of Journl A/S’ dedicated efforts with information security. This certificate means a lot to Journl A/S:
”Our customers are hospitals and the users are patients. Therefore, the security requirements are very high from all sides – especially now. We wish to support these requirements – not only regarding IT security but in the entire organisation through an internationally recognised ISO certification,” says Michael Thabang Langgaard Jensen, CPO at Journl A/S, and he continues:
”We started with a quality management system and expanded with an information security system. Both systems are now integrated in one. This gives us a strong quality and safety culture and ensures that we can supply our customers well.”
INTEGRation of management SYSTEMs
As Journl A/S is already certified according to the ISO 13485:2016 standard of medical equipment, the company’s new management system of information security has been integrated with the existing quality management system. This has eased the implementation and audit process at Journl A/S:
”As we already had an ISO 13485 certification from Bureau Veritas, we were able to combine our annual audit of our existing ISO 13485 certificate with the main testing of the new ISO 27001. This is a scoop regarding planning as well as execution,” tells Michael Thabang Langgaard Jensen, who has participated in ISO 27001:2013 training to be well prepared for audits:
”Most of all I wanted to make sure that we are not governed by the standard but that the standard is governed by us and to keep the auditor up to the mark,” says Michael Thabang Langgaard Jensen smiling.

The company’s dedicated efforts to implement the information security standard means that Journl A/S has a valuable benefit from the ISO 27001:2013 standard. After the presentation of the attractive certificate, the company feels well equipped for new international adventures.
”ISO 27001 gives a better structure and transparency of all processes and procedures internally as well as externally and it helps us stay on track,” tells Michael Thabang Langgaard Jensen. In connection with this he emphasises the value of experienced external auditors:
